InCITE Nominees at Crestwood

Math and the Art of the 3-D Polyhedron

Ms. Lee’s Math students explored the relationship between the number of faces, vertices and edges in 3-D shapes by creating a variety of polyhedrons using toothpicks and marshmallows. At the end of the activity, some groups made “epic” shapes to prove that the relationship still held true for more complex polyhedrons. [nggallery id=42]

Grade 7 Zentangle Animal Designs

Welcome to the world of the glorified doodle! Ms. Cooper’s grade 7 art students choose an image of their favourite animal and learned how to draw it by breaking it down to simpler shapes. From here, they used fine point markers and used a cross hatching technique to shade in the face of their animal.

Spring Uniform

Polo shirts will be allowed to be worn beginning Monday.  Please note that regular uniform rules apply – track pants or non-Crestwood sweaters are not allowed to be worn during school hours. If you are interested in purchasing a Crestwood Preparatory College Polo shirt, the uniform shop will be open at 8:00 am on Monday morning.

Grade 11 Inter-Grade Champions

Congratulations to this year’s Grade 11 inter-grade debating champions Jasmin Katz and Justin Memar! Through wit and rigorous logical argumentation Justin and Jasmin successfully defended the resolution that doctors should not have to provide services which they personally disagree with on religious grounds.  Great work guys!  

NYC Music Trip

Examination Schedule

Exams begin for all students on Friday May 30, 2014. A general schedule is available on the website under the documents tab. Crestwood Grade 8s Fight Poverty

Mrs. Winograd’s grade 8 Roots Geography class has been researching an organization whose mandate is to help eradicate poverty.  Upon completion of their research the students will be making their own promotional media clip presenting its values and mission – with the goal of getting people involved in the fight against poverty!

Sporting Life 10km

There is still time to register for the Sporting Life 10 km race on Sunday, May, 11th. Training is after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays with Ms. Dickinson. OFSAA Curlers

For the second year in a row, the Girls Varsity Curling team represented Crestwood and CISAA at the OFSAA Provincial Curling Championships. The team of Jessie Cooke, Mara Bowman, Sarah Mainprize and Amy Cho travelled to Brampton during the second week of March Break to compete with the 20 best girls’ rinks in the province.

Crestwood Hosts OFSAA Championship Tournament

Winter Sports Finals

In what turned out to be a riveting, and heart-breaking Saturday for Crestwood sports, both the U14 Girls Volleyball team as well as the U14 Boys Basketball team came within a heartbeat of taking CISSA Gold.
