Dear Parents, Crestwood is holding a Read-A-Thon to raise money for The Kidney Foundation of Canada, and we need your child’s help! This is a charity that is close to our hearts. In 2009, July Dorland, a student at Crestwood, was suffering from kidney disease. In need of a new kidney, her father was found to be a match.

Crestwood students again took part in the Royal Canadian Legion’s annual Poem/Poster/Literary Contest this past Remembrance Day. The contest was run through Branch 345 on Peard Road, where many students took prizes, and four students went on to the Zone Level –contest at the Salome Road branch. The winners were:   Public Speaking Contest 1st place  –

Lara’s Library News

Book clubs have been a huge success throughout term 2.  The Grade 1/2 book club read, discussed and completed activities about ten different picture books written and illustrated by Canadian authors and illustrators.  One of the authors, Linda Bailey, is even coming to visit Crestwood all the way from British Columbia on May 2!  More details

Board Game Bonanza

This week the Grade 6 classes wrapped up their Electricity unit. We finished the unit with some good old-fashioned board games! Grade 9 TGJ Public Service Announcements

As part of their filming unit in Communication Technology (TGJ), our grade 9 students spent the last few weeks planning, filming, and editing Public Service Announcements (PSAs).
