Unit 4 in French class brings enthusiasm, movement, and creativity.
In grade 4, students have begun the unit through physical exercise by singing and dancing, promoting a healthy lifestyle. “Suivez mes Pas” (follow my steps) introduces body parts, giving instructions, and will guide students to lead their own dances in French! (ex. avancez, reculez, et secouez les jambes! – Go forward, go backward, and shake your legs!)
The grade 5’s have questioned Mother Nature and the strange weather we’re having as they learn vocabulary describing “Le temps” (the weather). Through storytelling and learning centres the students begin to expand their vocabulary, which will lead to creating their own poems with the use of personification (ex. Le vent hurle – The wind howls).
