U12 Hockey Victorious

The Crestwood U12 Coed hockey team capped a successful season by capturing first place in their final tournament in Aurora on Friday. Our boys and girls were competing against the top U12 hockey teams from Pickering College, Country Day School, Toronto French School and Sterling Hall School. We won three games in a row starting with an efficient 7-1 victory versus Pickering College. We then went head to head in the semi finals against an improved Toronto French School squad. TFS stormed ahead just minutes into the game but Crestwood stayed patient and led by a Beckett Sennecke hat trick came back to win with a final score of 5-2. The championship game was slated against a strong Sterling Hall squad that had beaten us just a couple of weeks ago. We slowly took the game over after falling behind 1-0. The boys and girls controlled the play for the better part of the first period and led 3-1 going into the final frame. SHS stormed back and tied the game at three, eventually forcing a sudden death overtime period. Crestwood dominated the OT. Grade 6 student and three-year hockey team veteran Bradley Parker finally snapped home the winner with only seconds left on the clock. Congratulations to all players and a special thanks to the parents for their generous support throughout the season.
