Food Drive Next Week

Did you know that over 897,000 people in Toronto count on the food bank to provide their family with food?  While food banks get most of their donations over the holidays, there is a great need for donations year round.  In fact, as the holidays put additional stress on food banks, many find themselves without

Charged Up!

The Grade 6 students started their unit on Electricity, and this week students learned about the scientific method and how to properly observe and record science experiments. We experimented with different materials to create static charges and observed balloons being attracted and repelled. Students really enjoyed using their own hair to “charge up” the balloons.

Girls Volleyball falls to TYS

The U12 girl’s volleyball team took on The York School last night in three tough rounds of volleyball.  They faced powerful overhand-serves and incredible passing from the York School, and put up a great fight.  Although Crestwood couldn’t pull out the win, the ladies have made great gains with their bumping, serving, and volleys.  Coach

Meet Toni! Toni is the newest addition to the Tuleeni Academy. He is

Sock it to Me!

Did you know there are over 5,000 homeless people in Toronto? These people stay in homeless shelters, or sleep on the streets.  These people count on donations of food and clothes from people like you and me.  Did you know that socks are among the most needed items at homeless shelters, but are one of

U12 Bball Crowns Crescent

On Monday, the Crestwood U12 Boys basketball team went head to head with Crescent School. From the opening tipoff, Crestwood was simply dominant on both ends of the court. With the goalie pulled for an extra attacker Crestwood were unable to

The eight brave members of Crestwood’s U12 Flag Football team hit the gridiron early Wednesday morning for their final tournament. As the team took the field in their first game they knew they had to come out strong against Bond Academy if they had any hope of claiming the ultimate victory. Playing as they trained the team played tough from the first snap dominating

Mind of the Athlete

Present, But Preoccupied You are here, but not really here. Your mind is elsewhere. You don’t think that the people around you notice it. They do. You don’t think that it is hurting your relationships with them.  It is. Disinterested. Disengaged. Distracted. You are an emotional vortex as your mind drifts deep into thoughts elsewhere. Present, but preoccupied.

Gr.1 Cooking Class

The Grade Ones spent the last few weeks learning about Nutrition and the Four Food groups. To wrap up a wonderful and educational theme, they attended their annual visit to Loblaws Upstairs Cooking School yesterday afternoon. They were talented chefs, decorating not only their pizzas, but a gingerbread cookie, as well! After a healthy Nutritious

Strength Psychology

Stop beating yourself up mentally. You spend too much time replaying your mistakes in your mind. By doing so, you are creating lots of negative mental images. Reserve analyzing your past mistakes for times when you’re with your coach. Spend more time replaying the positive, technical aspects of your performances. This is called strength psychology.

U12 Hockey Upends UCC

The U12 Co-Ed Hockey team started their season yesterday on the right note as they travelled to UCC to face their Grade 5 squad.
