Winter Sports Heating Up

The U12 Co-ed hockey team will be back in action again Thursday vs Pickering College after collecting one win and four losses in the Boyd Caldwell Invitational Tournament last week. The team battled hard throughout the day on Friday but came up empty on the win ledger. Despite their lack of success all of the boys and girls continued to stay positive and work hard throughout the day which led into a great early game on Saturday. With 9 skaters our team battled Royal St. Georges College to a 1-1 tie with 5 minutes to go only to lose 3-1 on an empty net goal. Our final contest matched us up against St. Anslem’s Catholic School and despite being short handed again, we dominated the game from beginning to end. Ethan Aptekar posted the shutout while Zoe Dolman potted her first goal. Milo Tian sniped a hat trick and also setup Sharkey Chen for a tap in after some perfect passing.

The U12 Basketball squad had a very successful UCC Invitational. They won their first two games before bowing out in the quarter-finals with a loss to UCC. The boys got back on the winning side this week with a complete game win over Montcrest. We scored the first basket and controlled the play the rest of the way in a dominant performance.

This is a very busy month for both teams. As well as competing in our regular season schedule, we also will be travelling to Montreal for the annual Lower Canada College Invitational Tournament next week. All student/athletes are expected to get plenty of rest, eat healthy and of course continue to fulfill your academic obligations to the best of their ability.
