U13 Soccer Week in Review

The U13 Co-Ed soccer team got their season started with a tie against Holy Trinity 3-3 on Tuesday at the Glendon Field. The contest was a back and forth affair with several lead changes. Evan Senior got the Cougars started with a one time tally after a great team buildup. The Holy Trinity Tritons fought back and took a 2-1 advantage before Mateo Rocha bulged the twine on a nice individual effort. Adam Pearlman popped the go ahead tally before the Tritons tied it in the final minute.

On Wednesday the team suffered their first loss of the season against Country Day School. It was a tight first half against a very aggressive and physical opposition. Crestwood took the lead with a fine passing play, only for the official to fail to make the call that the ball had crossed the line. Almost immediately the missed call was further compounded as Country Day broke up the field and scored. Although our young team was bullied out of the game they continued to try to play soccer and worked hard until the final whistle. Well done guys.

A special note of mention for our Goalkeeper. Tim Kufner who made spectacular save after save and played through a cut lip after putting it all on the line for his team.

Next game is on Tuesday after the long weekend.
