The U9 soccer team attended the annual soccer jamboree hosted by Crescent School on Friday. It was an exciting afternoon, filled with some excellent soccer. The U9 soccer team tied for first place to bring back the trophy to Crestwood School. In game 1, we played Crescent School. Crestwood started off strong and continued to push the play throughout the game. The end result was 7-0 for Crestwood. Goals were scored by Beckett Sennecke, Adam and William Diiulio. Spencer was fantastic in net with a shutout.
Next, we went on to play Bayview Glen. It was another exciting game. The passing and teamwork was outstanding. Egor and Konmi were strong on defense and Spencer showed off his offensive skills scoring 2 goals. Beckett managed to rack up two more goals, with Crestwood taking the game 4-0. Still full of energy, we went on to play Bayview Glen(purple). This time, winning 7-3. No one could touch us. The offence was pushing hard, passing the ball to create shot after shot. Rickey was especially active and provided the goalie with a good workout. William, Adam and Beckett all managed to sink two goals each and Spencer topping it off with one more. Crestwood took the game 7-3.
Finally, the last game arrived versus Sterling Hall. The only team in the league that had managed to beat us during regulation season. We knew we had to work hard and stay focused and that is exactly what we did. We dug deep and stayed with the ball but Sterling Hall was determined to keep us out of the box. Sterling Hall took the first goal but we did not let that defeat us. We pressed hard in the first but couldn’t get it to the back of the net. In the second half, Beckett managed to sink 2 goals giving us the win 2-1.
Winning every game in the tournament, we tied for first place with Fieldstone. Beckett Sennecke accepted the trophy on behalf of the U9 soccer team. What an amazing afternoon and effort from all U9 team members. Ms. Dove is extremely proud of your sportsmanship and hard work this season! Congratulations to Beckett, William, Adam, Spencer, Egor, Joshua, Kanmi, Rickey, Mathew, Tony, Andrew and Christopher for a great season!
