U12 Soccer Captures Consolation Cup

The Crestwood U12 soccer squad ranked 8th, travelled to UCC for their final tournament of the season. Our first game was against the the host and number one ranked team, UCC.

Crestwood started strongly with some good team play and were unfortunate when a lucky bounce setup UCC for their first goal.  We fought back and deservedly drew level.  With the game tied at one, Crestwood pushed on and produced a fine goal that was harshly called back for offside.  The teams could not be separated and the game went to penalty kicks. Crestwood lost the shootout 3 – 1 and were put into the consolation side of the tournament.

The consolation semi-final gave a chance for the rest of the squad to have a run out and collectively the Crestwood squad produced a performance that was too good for their opposition. Winning 3 – 1. Crestwood moved on to the consolation final.

The consolation final was a close game. Crestwood found themselves a goal behind. Again they rallied to pull back level and pushed on with all of their effort to come out eventual winners with a score of 3 -1.

Coach Greenacre would like to thank and the boys and girls for their hard work and dedication over the season, and the parents for their support on Saturday.
