The U12 Hockey Team dropped a 5-2 decision to the UCC 5’s yesterday at York Mills Arena. Our boys and girls played a strong, disciplined game despite their skeleton squad. UCC grabbed an early lead as they slammed in a rebound after multiple saves by our goaltender, Josh Paquin. We tied it up near the end of the first as Brad Parker’s hard work behind the net was rewarded when he snookered a snipe off the UCC goalie’s back into the goal. Many chances and penalties marked the final two frames. UCC held a 5-1 lead with 3 minutes to go before Beckett Sennecke fired a laser into the top shelf to bring us to within three. It was a terrific game. All players are to be commended for their sportsmanship and effort.
