Months of hard work culminated on Thursday, April 24th as Crestwood’s annual stage production was presented to Crestwood friends and family. This year’s production was the classic story The Wizard of Oz. Dorothy (played by Alex Martin ’19) and Toto (Zoe Zucker-Rackoff ’19) venture across enchanted dreamscapes in order to find the infamous Wizard of Oz (Nick Mennel ‘14) after a tornado blows them far from home. Their adventure brings them across some strange friends: The Scarecrow (Sam Downy ’15); Tin Man (Billy Hochberg ’17) and the Lion (Alexander McCloud ’17). Pursued by the Wicked Witch of the West (Matt Cohen ’14) and her equally evil minion monkeys (Nathan George ‘14 and Daniel Sugar ‘14), the unlikely friends come to share a bond that unites them during their journey toward happiness, identity and belonging. A huge thank you goes out to all students and staff (both onstage and behind the scenes) who contributed to making this production an immense success. Your creativity and dedication is an inspiration to us all. A special thank you goes out to both Ms. Bryant and Ms. McCourt who year after year graciously donate so much of their time and energy to the play’s production.
