The CPC Experience

On Thursday, the Grade 6’s took a visit to Crestwood Preparatory College. We spent the day participating in fun and different activities to get a better understanding of what high school will be like next year.

When we arrived at the school, we were greeted by staff members and separated into groups to circle through a few stations. My group went for a tour of the school first. We were escorted by an older student who really gave us the ins and outs of the facilities, classes, extracurriculars, and school life. After the tour, we headed to the gym to take part in a relay race and some basketball drills. After a tiring, yet fun time in the gym, the group headed outside for two fun games: a quick-thinking game and duck duck goose with a fun twist. Then we headed to the next outdoor station for another team game, and then finished the rotation off with a game that is a mix of rock, paper, scissors, and football.

After a hot day in the sun, we had a tasty barbecue where we enjoyed some burgers (vegan and beef), juice, chips, and chocolate chip cookies.

The visit finished in the gym with a Q&A session, and after that, we hopped on the bus to arrive back at the lower school and finish off our day.

This was a great experience for all of us! We both had a wonderful time and learned about what our experience will be like next year.  I am very thankful that we got to experience it.
