Support for Ukraine

Earlier this week, students in Grades 2-6 watched a short virtual assembly outlining the conflict that is happening in Ukraine right now. We know many of our students are worried and eager to help. Students have been creating peace posters in support of the Ukrainian people and we have received lots of questions about how we can help. While we, as a school, won’t be collecting donations right now, we do encourage families wanting to donate money to donate to the Red Cross. The government of Canada has offered to match up to $10 million dollars in relief funds. You can use the link below to donate:

Alternatively, if you would like to donate goods to Ukrainian families in need, Chabad Bayview is collecting donations. They are located at 2437 Bayview Avenue (just North of Post Road). They are looking for:

  • Non perishable food
  • Footwear for men/women and children
  • Thermal underwear
  • Hygiene products (feminine and diapers)
  • Bedding
  • First aid and first aid kits

Our community service team at Crestwood will update you on our next initiative when we return from the March break. We are all praying for a swift end to this conflict and a return to safety for the Ukrainian people.
