Student Athletes Committing to University

Jahcobi Neath

On Thursday, Crestwood was honoured to be a part of Jahcobi Neath’s University signing.  Jahcobi joined us at Crestwood in 2016 and has spent the last 3 years captaining our Senior Boys’ Prep team, as well as working hard on his studies.  Jahcobi is an All-Canadian and was a silver medalist last summer on Team Canada. Jahcobi has carried our Crestwood team to many Championships and has scored over 2000 points since starting at Crestwood. Jahcobi’s hard work has certainly paid off and he has received 13 offers for Division I NCAA scholarships.  Selecting between Tulane University, Wakeforest University and Central Florida University was a difficult choice because all three schools offered both excellent academic programs and basketball programs. With his family in attendance Jahcobi revealed his choice by placing a Wakeforest hat on his head.

Reza Bagher Nejad

Reza joined us at Crestwood last year in his Grade 11 year and we are pleased to announce that earlier in October he signed with McGill University to play football for the Redmen.  Reza is ranked in the top 100 Canadian football players and has been selected to play on Team Ontario for the last 2 years. He received offers from every Canadian University but 2 and also received several DI NCAA scholarship offers.  Reza has proudly selected McGill as he has a family history of McGill graduates as well as the fact that McGill plays in the Quebec league which is considered the toughest competition in Canadian University football. Congratulations Reza!

Alexa Gibson

Alexa Gibson has been at Crestwood since Grade 7 and we are very proud to announce that she has signed with the University of Ottawa to play with the Women’s Varsity Hockey Team.  Currently Alexa is playing with the Kingston Junior Wolves and she has started out the season with a bang! She is the first goaltender in Kingston to get a shutout in the home opener and she has continued winning since the home opener with 12 wins and only 1 loss so far this season – including 5 shutouts.  Alexa is currently ranked 9th out of all the PWHL goalies and she has an impressive goals against average of 1.42 goals per game and a save percentage of 95. Not only is Alexa an amazing hockey player she has also been on the honour roll at Crestwood every year consistently since Grade 7 all the way through to Grade 12.  Congratulations Alexa Gibson on this outstanding accomplishment!
