Sports Update

A big congratulations goes out to the U14 Girls Volleyball team as they defeated TMS Schools last night at Crestwood. The girls played a hard battle, losing the first set but then came back to sweep the following two! Both coaches are extremely impressed with the girls improvement so far this season. Congratulations once more!

Wednesday, the Crestwood Varsity swim team had a great day attending the first ever relay meet. The relay team of Maddie Skain, Catlin Skain, Mattie McClachlan and Andrew Gdanski racked up 3- 2ndplaces finishes and topped off the day with a 1st place swim. The rest of the swimmers all set personal best times and are continuing to strive towards their goals in preparation towards the CISSA championships.

On January 12th, the Jr. Boys Basketball team travelled to Pickering College. In a game that had some tense moments at the beginning, CPC ultimately prevailed due to a combination of timely defense and making the extra pass. Highlights of the game included the passing of Emre Desiru, massive blocks from Ty Ellis and Ted Kang, as well as the deep shooting of Matthew Gionnas.

On January 14th, the U-14 Hockey team travelled to Billy Bolton Arena to take on RSGC in their first game back since the winter break. The team came out motoring on all cylinders, scoring in the first 30 seconds of the game on a magnificent goal by Aaron Little. Both teams battled back and forth, hitting many posts and Alexa Gibson made many spectacular saves keeping our lead to 1-0. A defensive breakdown allowed RSGC to tie the game with 5:00 minutes left to play in the game. With CPC pushing to get the winning goal, Aaron Little was able to pop in his second of the game and take CPC to a 2-1 victory over RSGC. Great play by all and special mention should go out to the defense core of Mike DiBattista, Max Dolman, Matt Weschler and James Gilday. Keep up the good work!
