Sports Update

Hockey

The U-14 Hockey team took their undefeated record of 3-0-0 on the road to face another undefeated team, Sterling Hall School.  Although Crestwood jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead, the penalty box became our best friend, once again. Despite this, the boys were able to outplay a very strong Sterling Hall team and win the game, 4-3, on a short-handed game-winning goal by Cole Eichler, who finished the night with another Hat Trick and 4 points.  Roy Pejcinovski once again stole the show in the goal, making some big saves in the final few minutes of the game.

The varsity boys hockey team lost a sea-saw battle to RSGC 9-5. Goal scorers were Andrew Haynes with a pair, Noah Aaron, Joe Eisentraut and Shane Sigmund with one each. The boys next game is next Thursday at home to Nichols College.

Curling

Crestwood’s brand new U-14 curling team had its first game last night at Donalda against the squad from Bayview Glen. Skip William MacInnis led the team with good calls, and a developed eye for strategy. The teams traded ends, back and forth, for the first four ends, with Thomas Dale and Jonah Tesler developing more and more confidence with each rock thrown. Sadly, in the end BVG was victorious, but the U-14 team did Crestwood proud, and as their confidence and comfort on the ice improves, we should start to see the wins pile up.
