Sports Update

The junior boys rugby team competed in their first games of the season, Wednesday at Cherry Beach.  Despite the cold weather, the boys came together to play some strong rugby, finishing the day second in our pool and 4th overall.  The highlight of the day was our 30-0 win over RSGC.  Artie Shlykov, Chris Sanders and Braden Harris lead the team with their consistent game play and strong defensive tackles.  Try scorers were Anthony Audette, Brayden Harris, Artie, Charlie West, and Ty Ellis. Congratulations on a great day, next practice is Friday after school.

The U14 soccer girls proved Thursday that the best offense makes for the best defence, as they shut out their competition, Trinity College, 2-0 to improve their season record to 2 wins and 0 losses.

From the opening kickoff, the entire formation fought for each and every ball and pressed the Trinity defense repeatedly, which eventually resulted in the opening goal by Sydney Tytel.

The second half saw much of the same, as the triangle of Sydney, Angelina and Alexa came close to goal on several occasions. But with minutes to go, Angelina put the game out of reach, as she beat a Trinity defender to the ball and cooly deked around the keeper to make it 2-0.
