Spirit Week 2013

Spirit week was another huge success this year. To kick off spirit week the halls on Monday were filled with students in crazy hats or with crazy hair and the athletic council had a delicious bake sale in the front lobby. The teachers and students faced off in a Reach for the Top match. Although the students put up a good fight the teachers came up victorious! On Tuesday the students wanted to redeem themselves in a staff versus student basketball game. During the game Mr. M. Pagano continued his warpath of destruction of the PE teaching staff breaking a second staff members finger in one week. Mr. Vaillancourt won’t even shake his hand! In a game with many highlights; Mr. Sunderland stuffing a grade seven, Mr. Tanev playing a full court press defense, and Chris Sanders draining 3’s, the teachers pulled out a victory by a mere 3 points. The fun continued on Wednesday and the halls were filled with students in various jerseys of their favorite teams. In the afternoon, students came to the gym to watch the senior’s boy’s basketball team defeat Lakefield. Jacob Hamblin lit up the game, sinking 6 3-pointers, On Thursday the senior girls volleyball team continued the winning streak for Crestwood. In a battle against Albert College, CPC cheered the girls onto a victory. A perfect end to a great week of school camaraderie was capped off with a grade colour war. The assembly was packed with many exciting events. Mr. Pagano and Connor Nardone showed of their lyrical talents in a game of Don’t Forget the Lyrics. Although unable to make Mr. Johnstone laugh, Isaac Papsin did an excellent rendition of his Spanish-Scottish accent. Aaron Kadoch made the entire school laugh running around in a blue nighty, unfortunately he didn’t make Mr. Cardinale laugh so he ended up with a pie in the face. In a finale to the colour wars, grades battled one another in a Tug of War. The students were finally able to redeem themselves when the grade 12 students beat the teachers in a tough battle. Thank you to the athletic council for all their work in organizing a great week for the student body. Congratulations to the Grade 12’s who collectively showed the greatest spirit through out the week, winning a free pizza lunch supplied by the Parent’s Association.
