Ski Day Reminders

Dear Parents:

Friday, February 9th is Ski Day for Grade 4-6 students.

Here are a few last minute reminders:

DRESS IN LAYERS, NECK WARMERS, SUN SCREEN, GLOVES AND HOT PAWS.

The long range forecast for Flesherton calls for a mix of sun and clouds -10C. Please tell your children that when they are cold they should make their way into the chalet where there will be teacher supervision throughout the day.

Arrive at Sunnybrook Park. The entrance is 1132 LESLIE STREET. (just north of Eglinton)

The drive is approximately 1 KILOMETER in from Leslie Street.

Keep to the right as you enter the park and follow the signs until you reach

Parking lot #3. (there is a small sign on the right hand side of the road)

THE PARKING LOT IS THE SECOND LOT ONCE YOU ENTER THE PARK AND JUST PRIOR TO THE MAIN CEMENT PILLARS.

Parents and teachers, you may leave your car in the lot but please display the Crestwood logo.

Arrive at Sunnybrook Park by 6:50am. All buses will leave at 7:00 am SHARP. We will not wait for latecomers.

Buses arrive at Beaver Valley Ski Club @ 9:00am

Arrive back at Sunnybrook Park, traffic considered, at approximately 5:45pm

If your child is sick and not attending Ski Day, you MUST call Mrs. Brenzel’s cell at 416-786 3445 BEFORE 6:30 am.

Each student has been assigned a bus number for the trip, there will be no changes made.

Parents arriving at Beaver Valley Ski Club on their own must meet Mrs. Brenzel inside the lodge cafeteria to obtain their tow tickets.

Please send a lunch and snacks or money with your child.

Students NOT participating in Ski Day are expected to be at school at the regular time and in uniform. Arrangements have been made for them.

No ski boots are to be worn on the bus.

No student will be permitted to begin skiing until a Beaver Valley Ski Club instructor has tested him or her.

Ski lessons will take place all day if required.

Teachers will be on the slopes and are assigned to various checkpoints around the resort, at the base, on the trails, and in the chalet to assist the students.

Students must ski with a buddy.

Helmets are mandatory.

Any student leaving Beaver Valley Ski Club and not returning on the bus must speak DIRECTLY with Ms. Badler.

THE LAST RUN IS 2:30 PM. The tow supervisor will not allow any Crestwood student back on the lift. The buses leave at 3:00 pm SHARP. Students must be back on their assigned bus.

Beaver Valley and Crestwood School are not responsible for any lost electronic devices, i.e. Ipod’s, cell phones.

BEAVER VALLEY SKI CLUB IS A PRIVATE CLUB AND WE MUST BE RESPECTFUL OF THEIR RULES.
