Dear Parents,

Happy Thanksgiving! We are especially thankful this year that we have had such a safe and successful transition back to school. As many classes have been discussing and writing about what we are thankful for, it has been so lovely to see many of the students writing about feeling grateful to be back at school with their teachers and peers.

In the Primary Division, the second week of October has brought us so many things to be thankful for and as we approach the Thanksgiving weekend we can reflect on just how lucky we are. Please take the time this weekend to sit back, relax and enjoy your special family time.     This year has been particularly stressful returning to school and some of us might have lost sight of spending quality time with each other. Here is a link to give you an idea of how to spend some time together as a family this Thanksgiving weekend.   https://www.cbc.ca/parents/play/view/gratitude-pictionary-a-fun-family-game-for-thanksgiving-weekend

Fill Up with Mrs. Fuller continued this week in the Junior division. This week’s focus was kindness; understanding the importance of filling other people’s buckets and recognizing how that kindness impacts our own mood, and feelings of joy. We created “compliment cards”, recognizing each student’s unique qualities and how they positively contribute to their classmates. Students were challenged to “go out of their way to make someone’s day”. I look forward to hearing all about their acts of kindness next time!

A reminder to Junior students – we will NOT be switching over our uniform policy as we usually do after Thanksgiving. Students are still welcome to wear their polo shirts as part of their uniform; dress shirts and ties are not required this year.

We want to remind all families, when celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend, to please be mindful of provincial guidelines for social gatherings. As of September 19th, the limit on unmonitored social gatherings is 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors. We are counting on all of you to make safe and responsible choices this long weekend, in order to keep our school community safe.

As always, thanks for your continued support this year. We wish you all a happy and healthy Thanksgiving weekend. Looking forward to seeing all the students back at school on Tuesday, October 13th.
