Dear Parents,
It has been an especially busy month of May at Crestwood School! We cannot believe that we will begin our last month of school next week!
Firstly, thank you to all the parents who volunteered their time at the used uniform sale. We appreciate your support and are so glad we were able to, once again, offer parents the opportunity to purchase gently used uniforms at great prices!
This term, we’ve had the opportunity to return to inter-school sports with other CISAA schools. Our softball team has had a very successful season and will be competing in their final tournament this weekend. Good luck, cubs! As well, our track and field team went to two pod meets and attended the championship meet this past Wednesday. We are so proud of our athletes for trying new events and making great personal progress! The primary track and field team had a great one-day tournament hosted by Crestwood Prep, where students got a taste of track and field events. A big thank you goes out to all our coaches for all their hard work!
By far, one of the highlights of the year was our open house this past week. Welcoming parents at the Art Show and Curriculum Share was truly a pleasure. It felt so great to have parents back in the building and we loved watching the students show their parents around the school with such pride and excitement. Thank you to all the teachers for their hard work to prepare for the two evenings, and a special thank you to Ms. Romanenko for organizing the stunning display of artwork in the gym.
On Thursday this week, the Junior Division held their public speaking finals. It was an incredible showcase of hard work, determination, and bravery. Students confidently presented their speeches to a gym full of students, teachers, parents, and judges. We were blown away by all the speeches, and we all got to learn about new ideas, impactful people and examples of awe and wonder in our world. A big congratulations to all the finalists and thank you to all the Junior students for working so hard on their speeches this term.
