Dear Parents,

Happy February! Our first week of February, and our 5th (and second last) week of remote learning has been a great one! The highlight of the week was our school wide virtual assembly to kick off our MS Readathon! We learned a lot about multiple sclerosis, and had the privilege to hear Ms. Amar speak about her personal experience of living with MS over the last 10 years. Her message of inspiration to always stay positive truly resonated with us all. Thank you, as well, to our student presenters: Alexis Goodman, Lilah Lewis-Wine and Shira Sandler. You all did a wonderful job presenting! If you didn’t get a chance to see our webinar on Thursday, the link is included in the newsletter this week.

We hope you will spend some time this weekend exploring the MS Readathon website with your child. We look forward to hearing about the wide variety of books our students will be reading this month, and encourage you to donate to this worthy cause. For many of the younger students, the MS Readathon is like a springboard into reading. Their reading skills are developed enough for them to participate in this initiative while improving their own reading abilities.

Mr. Cooper and the House Heads continue to entertain us with Edsby games and challenges. They introduced us to the Outline game and ran a great live Pictionary today! We hope you had a chance to fill out your Flipgrid consent form so you can participate in our “Minute to Win it” challenges, and submit an act for our virtual talent show. They also put together a fabulous “Newsflash”, including all the important information students need to know about what’s going on in the Crestwood (virtual) community, along with tips and tricks to help get through the last week of remote learning. Please remember to keep checking Edsby for all their fabulous contributions!

We were so glad to hear the news this week that we will be able to return to in-person learning on February 16th! We cannot wait to welcome our students back to Crestwood school. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, and we look forward to our last (short) week of virtual learning next week!
