Today the Grade 5’s enjoyed a presentation by Wendy Montgomery (mother of Grade 5 student Jordan Mowad), who works for the OLG. We learned about taxes, about how the money earned by the OLG helps the province pay for roads, hospitals, and schools, and about the rules around the lottery in Ontario. While no one in Grade 5 is old enough to play the lottery yet (you have to be 18!), we really enjoyed learning about how the OLG works with our provincial government to benefit all of us.
