News from Ms. Hektor

SAFETY FIRST

Although we have Crossing Guards on duty before and after school, when you are driving through Crestwood Property we ask that you are especially cautious and vigilant.  Please put safety first.  Also, remember that students MUST be dropped off at the atrium before school in the morning.  We ask that you take the time to drive your children to the safety of this area rather than dropping them in the middle of the road where we cannot control the speed or caution of other drivers. If your child has arranged to come to the Junior Building to meet with a teacher before the 8:20 am crossing guard is on duty, or if you arrive after the school day has started,  please park your car and escort him or her to the door.  Student safety is a priority to the entire Crestwood community!

GRADE 6 GOES OUT OF THIS WORLD

Grade 6 students will be participating in a field trip to the Science Centre on November 6th.  This is a fantastic opportunity for our students because it enables them to “experience” the challenges as well as the daily routines of astronauts in space.  They will also view the movie Hubble, which will provide them with some fantastic views from space. What a way to apply and enhance their learning!

GO CRESTWOOD GO!

The Cross Country meet originally scheduled for Wednesday, October 28th has been rescheduled.  Our cross country athletes will be lacing up their running shoes to represent Crestwood at the meet on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 4TH.  Participants will be leaving Crestwood at 11:00 am.  We hope to have everyone back at the school in time for carpool, but this will be dependent on traffic.  We wish all of Crestwood’s athletes and coaches a very successful meet.
