Nice start for the Parents’ Association. The Parents’ Association held its first meeting of the school year this week.  The meeting was very well attended and it was nice to see so many smiling new faces.  Updates on upcoming activities were given and attendees were encouraged to put forth suggestions and ideas ongoing.  Of course,

Crestwood is once again represented by 24 students at WE Day 2018 hosted at the Scotiabank Arena. This year’s event included appearances from Ann Curry, Arkells, Jessie Reyez, Ally Brooke and more. In March 2019, many WE Day participants from Crestwood will be heading to India to make a difference in the world.    

This year Crestwood’s FIRST LEGO League team, named the Crestwood Lions, will be preparing to compete in this year’s challenge – Into Orbit. Students are to program their EV3 or NXT, using different sensors and servos to complete complex tasks on the game field. They are slated to compete in their first tournament in early December.

This week, new international students met with Crestwood student buddies to connect, chat over pizza and get to know each other a little better. Crestwood welcomes students from around the world, and nothing says welcome to the family like pizza with new friends!

Cafeteria meal plans are now available for purchase! If you decide not to use the meal plan you can also sign up for Crestwood Cash to upload individual lunch funds into your child’s account.

Dear Parents and Friends of Crestwood Preparatory College: They say that the older one gets, the more quickly days and months and years pass. That should be a cautionary tale while raising and teaching our young people. While I’m wondering where all the hours have gone, some of our students may be counting the seconds.

David Lee, father of grad Julia Lee, and Vince Pagano (his old teacher and mentor) provided desert for Dave’s staff luncheon that he held last week. Thanks again Dave! Dave Lee, recently retired from Royal St. George’s as Admission Head, and will be joining the CPC Board in September.
