The Crestwood School Hockey Team pulled off a dramatic 7-7 draw versus Country Day School on Monday afternoon. After two periods of sloppy defence and questionable goaltending the Cougars finally finally started to move their feet and share the puck. The result was five unanswered goals and a bewildered CDS bench and crowd. Trailing 7-2 early in the third Grade 5 student/athlete Cole Eichler broke in on his off wing and absolutely ripped a shot past the CDS goalie. The goal seemed to put some jump back in our skates and before we knew it we trailing by only one 7-6. With the goalie pulled and the extra attacker in place we won the faceoff and hemmed the Cylones in their own end for just under a minute. We continued to pepper the goalie until Jordan Sigel swatted a rebound past the sprawling backstop to tie it 7-7 with 3.8 seconds to go. Great effort by our young Greek goaltender Dimitris Christodoulou who after a shaky start made some key saves in the third period. Goal scorers were James Gilday, Cole Eichler, Jordan Sigel, Peter Keane and Bradley Parker. Congrats to all boys and girl on a miraculous comeback.
