Mining for Chocolate Chips in 3A

In Social Studies, we have been learning about land use in Ontario. Mining is a big industry in our province. It has both negative and positive impacts for our environment and economy. 3A used chocolate chip cookies to represent our land to mine out the chocolate chips. As we picked away at the cookie, we noticed how much of it crumbles and that it is impossible to put it all together again. At the same time, mining provides many jobs for the people of Ontario. Try this at home and see what happens to your chocolate chip cookies. Make sure you have some extras to eat too!!
