Mental Health Awareness Week

Next week is Mental Health Awareness Week.  All week long Crestwood will be making announcements informing students of the very real actuality of the Mental Health crisis in Canada and will be informing students of causes, symptoms and solutions to the many Mental Health problems Canadians face every day.  On Wednesday, January 29 Crestwood has invited a motivational speaker to address students.  His name is Will Njoku; who, as a successful professional athlete, managed to journey to the highest level of athletics, including an Olympic and NBA experience. But throughout his youth he experienced turmoil and tragedy in his home life. Then, at the age of 29, Will was diagnosed with depression and anxiety, conditions he had been battling unknowingly since the first grade.  He will share with our students his journey and how he made himself successful with his “Will2Win”.  His SAFE game plan will teach students to identify the importance of planting, pointing, pushing and practicing their Will2Win, in all aspects of their day-to-day lives. The assembly will take place at 10:30 and we would like to invite parents to attend as well.
