At Crestwood, our Physical Education program strives to encourage students in all the areas that make up a healthy individual both mentally and physically. Through various individual and group activities, our students are exposed to a variety of learning situations, such as problem solving, cooperation, fitness, skill development and competition .
The curriculum includes a compulsory physical education program for all students beginning in Junior Kindergarten. In addition, intramural and extramural team sports are offered as an option to all students beginning in Grade 4. We offer intramural sports such as soccer, beachball volleyball, basketball, broomball, floor hockey and baseball, all of which are scheduled during the lunch hour.
Team sports afford the students the opportunity to gain experience in a particular sport as well as develop the skills of cooperation and competition. Extramural teams compete against other schools in cross-country running, floor hockey, ice hockey, soccer, basketball, softball, volleyball, and badminton.
Most importantly, we encourage our students to have “organized fun” and develop to the best of their ability.
