Library News

On Tuesday, the children from JK to Grade 2 enjoyed a virtual author visit with Toronto author, Andrew Larsen.  Andrew taught us that we all have stories to tell and one day even write.  Please ask your children about his visit!  Also, if you’d like to pick up any of his beautiful picture books for summer reading, please support our local children’s bookstores such as https://ellaminnow.ca/ or https://www.mabelsfables.com/.

On Friday, May 27 at 11am the Grades 3-6 students are in for a real treat!  After reading his novels for many months in library class, we will finally be rewarded with a virtual visit from award winning Canadian author Gordon Korman who will share his expertise about writing that spans the past 40+ years!  During his visit he will talk about research, brainstorming, developing characters, dialogue and revision.  He has written adventure, suspense, mystery, historical fiction and humour books.  Please ask your children about the books that we’ve been reading in class as they are truly enjoying them.

More good news!  Parents are welcome to attend the virtual author visit!  Please use the link crestwood-on-ca.zoom.us/j/6027658461 if you would like to attend.
