Important Information for Grade 12 Graduates

Community Service

-The graduation requirement to complete 40 hours of community involvement is suspended for this school year.

-Students are encouraged to submit any outstanding community involvement hours that have been completed for our school records.

Literacy Requirement

-The Ministry has directed that the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) be waived as a graduation requirement, for students who are able to graduate in the 2019-20 school year.

-Graduating students who are only taking the OLC4O course for the provincial literacy requirement and/or who do not need the credit as 1 of their 30, are safe to withdraw from the course if they wish (please note that this course will be marked at ‘Withdrawn’ on the Ontario Student Transcript).

-Graduating students who require the OLC4O course as 1 of the 30 credits for graduation must still complete the course.

Post-Secondary Updates

-The Guidance Department wants to reassure you that they are focused on ensuring that the application process continues as smoothly as possible for our grade 12 students.

-Until we receive direction from the Ministry of Education, we will adhere to the original dates and deadlines as outlined by post-secondary institutions in Canada and abroad.

Graduation and Prom

-The CPC Administration has made the difficult decision to postpone the Grade 12 Graduation and Prom.

-We are in the process of planning a Fall Commencement and Prom celebration – more details will be provided when available.
