Beginning next week, the guidance department will begin its visits to grades 8 through 11 English classes to speak about course selections for the 2013-2014 school year. The guidance staff will discuss elective options, the importance of community service, and backwards mapping towards postsecondary planning with each grade level. Every student will be taking home a course selection package which will include a course selection sheet, a list of courses offered, requirements for graduation and a credit summary (of courses completed to-date).
To assist our parents in working through this material with their children we will be hosting a Parent Information Meeting on Course Selection for students in Grade 9 and 10 at the school on Thursday, January 23rd, 2014 at 7:00pm in the cafeteria. Subject selection sheets are due on Friday, February 7th. Enrollment forms must be submitted to the office prior to the acceptance of subject selection sheets.
