Grade 9 Trip to Spirit Point

Last week, Crestwood Grade 9 students went on an overnight trip to Spirit Point to complete their Outdoor Education component of the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award.

While at Spirit Point students participated in a variety of different activities. This trip allowed our students to build new friendships and challenge themselves in unfamiliar environments. Students learned how to set up a camp site, build a fire and cook their own meals while on their canoe trip around Hilsberger Lake. They also conquered their fear of heights by completing a ropes course.

All Grade 9 students are now involved in the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award. In order to achieve the award students must complete three components: A Physical Activity, a Skill and a Community Service component. For more information please contact Mr. Johnstone or Mdme. St. Onge or visit  http://www.intaward.org/
