Getting to Know, Martine Racanelli!

Hello! My name is Martine Racanelli and I am teaching class 3D this year – I’m so excited to be joining the Crestwood community! I come to Crestwood after having taught in the Halton District School Board for the past 6 years. Previously I’ve taught grades 3, 5 and 6 and spent one school year as a Special Education Resource Teacher where I supported students in grades 3-7. I attended Western University for my undergraduate degree in Media & Information Studies, followed by Charles Sturt University where I earned my Bachelor of Education. Prior to becoming an Ontario Certified Teacher, I was always passionate about working with kids and spent many years working at an overnight camp and as a CSIA Certified Ski Instructor at Craigleith Ski Club. I still love to get out and ski while I can, and enjoy travelling, baking and going on long walks around the city! My teaching is grounded in setting students up for success by working to provide everyone with the tools they need to succeed, while also finding ways to make the curriculum relevant and engaging to all learners. I look forward to getting to know more of the wonderful staff and families here at Crestwood as the year continues!
