I joined the Crestwood community last spring and I am currently teaching 3B. I seek to foster curiosity, discovery, and confidence by utilizing teaching strategies that are participatory, engaging, and fun. I graduated from the Master of Teaching Program at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education with a major research paper on Inclusive Education Strategies. Additionally, I am a qualified Special Education and French as a Second Language teacher. My past academic pursuits include an Interdisciplinary Studies degree in Sociology, Women’s Studies and First Nations Studies from the University of British Columbia. I bring 7 years of professional experience at Toronto-based, independent and alternative schools where I taught grade 2-8 students in Literacy, Math, Science, Social Studies, Drama, Visual Art and Core French. As a certified national level coach, I taught gymnastics for over 10 years. I also worked as an educational consultant, designing a province-wide workshop series on inclusive education. I always work to cultivate a safe and empowering environment for student growth. It brings me great joy to help my students become strong, resilient and motivated learners.
