Yesterday, amidst perfectly appropriate weather, the Crestwood curling season kicked off formally, as Crestwood’s newest curlers travelled to Toronto Cricket Club to participate in the CISAA Funspiel. 15 curlers, drawn from the U20 Open team and Crestwood’s curling house league, competed in 3 teams. For many curlers, this was their first experience of a proper game. While Crestwood did not bring home any trophies, the day was a fantastic success for all involved. Thanks to Steven Webster for his assistance during the day, and Crestwood’s own Mr. Jull for organizing the funspiel as CISAA’s curling convener.

The curling season continued its kick-off on Friday, as Ms. Klein and the Varsity Boys travelled to East York to compete in the Gore Schoolboy Tournament’s Zone play downs. The Open Team will also be in action next week for its first CISAA league game against Montcrest.
