The Crestwood X-country team completed their season on a high note this past Monday, October 20th. A group of 19 Crestwood athletes attended the CISAA finals along with over 1000 athletes from the CISAA. The skies opened up and the rain came down, but our spirit and fight were not affected!
Running a 2000m course with a field of 86 runners our U10 boy’s results speak for themselves: 1st Place was captured by Beckett Sennecke who blazed a 9:12.7 trail while Josh Paquin finished not far behind with a time of 9:56.4 and in ninth place. Not far behind were Spencer MacInnis, Adam Jonsson, Evan Prosserman, Dylan Wilkinson, Ben Aspedan and Myles Abitbol. Crestwood School finished in 2nd place just shy of coming home with the winning plaque.
The U10 Girl’s results for the same 2000m course was equally impressive. Finishing 11th out of a field of 147 girls was Molly Hektor with a time of 10:50.9 Joining her were Zoe Halpern and Amy McCulloch, with times of 13:55.6 and 16:28.1 respectively. Congratulations to our two U11 Girls who competed in a field of 101 runners. Jordan Nikolov 17:23.4, Kira Palmer 19:29.1
In the U12 Girls division in a race of 2500m, we have 2 girls that finished first and second in every race they ran this year. We are thrilled to share the results of both Pyper Sennecke and Kyra Grossman. All season long they have been an inspiration to their teammates and coaches alike. In a field of 69 racers they finished with a strong result of 1st and 2nd with the following times: Pyper Sennecke 13:26.4, Kyra Grossman 13:29.8 The third place runner came in 30 seconds behind our girls.
Justin Ferrera was our solo U12 boy competing all season long. Congratulations go out to him for standing without any teammates on the start line and finishing with a time of: Justin Ferrera 16:41.5
The Cross-Country coaches want to applaud the entire team for their outstanding commitment to lunchtime practices as well as their superb support for one another throughout the season.
The Fall Season comes to a close this weekend and we are already gearing up for our Winter Sports Schedule. Team Tryout Sign Up Lists will be posted Monday on the sports board outside of the gymnasium for the following teams: U9, U10, U11 and U12 Basketball, U12 Ice Hockey, U12 Badminton and U12 Girls Volleyball.
