Crestwood once again participated in our holiday toy and food drive: Crestwood Gives! This year we partnered with the Kawartha Halliburton Children’s Foundation to help fourteen families in need during this holiday season. Each homeroom was paired with a family and decided as a group what they could do to help. The gift contributions ranged from household items, such as cleaning products and linens, to outdoor clothes and toys and in one case a crib for a one month old child. The day of, Crestwood Ambassadors, along with a grade 10 drama class, collected, labeled, bagged and carried all donations out to waiting vehicles to make the trip home. Donna Berry, head of Kawartha Halliburton Children’s Foundation, came personally to thank Crestwood Preparatory College for their hard work and generosity this holiday season and presented a plaque as a reminder to all of us that when we gather with our families during this winter break, we should take a moment to think of the families that we have helped, for they will be thinking of us. Thank you to Mr. Vince Pagano and the Administration, The Crestwood staff, students, and parents, our drivers Lisa Mainprize and Heather Hobart, and everyone that made this initiative possible.
