On Tuesday November 20th, 13 Senior Art students, along with Ms. Belanger, travelled to the Science Center to participate in the Creative Futures Expo sponsored by the Applied Arts Magazine. The Expo provided students with an opportunity to meet young creative professionals, and learn what opportunities exist for those interested in pursuing creative careers. Universities and colleges that offer creative degree programs had representatives present to answer questions and provide students with information. Information included what kind of supports they offer to students to ensure their future success, or what kind of classes they offer and the requirements needed to get into them. There were a small group of university and college students who had their portfolios on display and spoke with students about the courses they were taking, and what their careers as art students would look like. The most important part of the day for our Crestwood students was the new knowledge that as Art students, they could pursue their creative dreams and know they have a bright and shining future ahead.
