The Grade 11 Environmental Science class has been learning about impacts of oil spills as part of the Energy unit.
After learning about Exxon Valdez (1989) and BP Deepwater Horizon (2010) incidents, our scientists researched the methods that were used during these incidents. The information was used to design a way to test out their effectiveness, identifying the challenges, and ultimately the impact on the environment due to oil spills and its clean-up procedures.
This project is part of the Inquiry Initiative for our science programs.
