CPC Athletic Update (Jan. 21)

It is great to see our students back in the gym and getting back to doing what they love!  CISAA games are still on hold and we should have a new and revised schedule out by the end of next week.  The goal is to get back to games by mid-February and play a revised season.  The season will be condensed to 4 weeks with multiple tri/quad meets, culminating with a March Madness final Championship tournament.  More details to follow.

Fortunately, the OSBA was granted Elite Amateur status so our Senior Boys and Girls got back to games this week.  Our senior girls traveled to Niagara Falls to face off against Niagara Prep.  The game was tied throughout most of the 4th quarter, but Niagara pulled ahead in the final minutes to defeat our Lions by a score of 88-82.  Toby Fournier led the way with 33 points, followed by Taija Sta. Marie with 20 points, Ella Okubasu with 12  points, and Chantelle Stuart with 10 points.
Our Senior Boys elite team returned to their first game of the New Year on Thursday, traveling to Burlington to face off against New Horizon Academy.  Our Lions were tested with a short bench but pulled through winning 83-78.  Romad Dean led the team with an incredible 38 points, followed by Zaiden Cross with 21 points, Jordan Dickson with 8 and Mykhailo Bednostin with 8 points.
