CPC – Alumni Update Kevin Todd – 2014

In 2019, I graduated from the University of Toronto (Trinity College) with a Bachelor of Rotman Commerce (Specialist in Management, Minor in Economics). At university, easily my favourite experience was being the Performance Relations Manager for TEDx UofT from 2016 to 2017, where I was responsible for recruiting performers for our 2017 flagship conference. I also got to host the conference, where I beatboxed for Rajiv Surendra (Kevin G from Mean Girls: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dQSLIOMBgY).

Since 2017 I worked at Scotiabank, most recently as a Financial Advisor for the past year and a bit. There, apart from the job itself, there were a few times I went a bit extra regarding our bank’s charity events: I ran the 2018 Rat Race 5k in a full suit and tie to raise money for United Way, and I organized and performed at a charity concert to raise money for Movember.

Speaking of music, I have put the Music award to good use and stayed extremely active with music since Crestwood. In September 2019, I worked with Oak Recording Studio in Toronto to record and release an EP, ‘Where the Ducks Go’. On February 20, 2020, it actually charted on a campus radio, reaching #27 on CFBX’s weekly Top 30 chart! I’ve released a few other singles and am currently writing an album to be released this summer! My music sounds like the vocal layering of Queen and theatrics of Rocky Horror Picture Show, with the music backing of 2000’s pop rock. I play all instruments and sing all vocals on my songs, so I don’t have a band that I regularly play with live. However, for shows that I do in the city, I will recruit musician friends to play on stage with me, including sometimes my brother, noted Alumni Graham Todd. Otherwise, I have been extremely happy and proud of what I have done! I ran my first half-marathon in 2016 and have run one every year since. In 2019, I concluded two and a half years of awkward hair styles and donated my hair for cancer. I have started reading/self-studying a lot more since graduating and am working towards the goal of owning a rental property. In my off-time, I am an active trader of stocks, options, and cryptocurrency. I have earned my Investment Funds in Canada professional designation, my Certified Associate in Project Management certification, and am currently working towards my Change Management Foundations certification.

Overall, I am extremely grateful for the love and support you and the amazing teachers and students of Crestwood have shown me. I am proud of who I have become, and even more proud to wear the label of Crestwood Preparatory College Alumni.
