Community Service Opportunities

Led by the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship, Immigration, and International Trade, the Change the World Campaign (April 10th to May 23rd) encourages high school students to volunteer in the local community. It allows students to be formally recognized for their volunteering by providing a certificate from Volunteer Toronto and the Ministry while they earn the volunteer hours needed to graduate. Check out the poster below and website for more information.  There are also 10 easy ways of volunteering during this time for interested students.

Some volunteer opportunities that students can become involved in are:

  1. 2016 Scotiabank ProAm for Alzheimers Hockey Tournament (Friday May 13th – Sunday May 15th)

– Volunteer opportunities for pre-tournament and tournament activities. Sign up here to volunteer.

  1. Sporting Life 10K (Sunday May 8th)

– Volunteers and runners needed. Sign up with Miss Dickinson in Room 104.

Additionally, any students 14 years and older who are interested in volunteering this summer, St. Joseph’s Healthcare is currently accepting applications for their Summer Student Volunteer Program.  The application deadline is Monday April 11th, 2016.
