Camouflaged @Kortright

On Monday, the Grade 4 students visited the Kortright Centre. The trip was arranged as the culmination of their unit on Habitats and was a great chance for them to put their knowledge on the subject to the test! The day started with a talk about the different animals that lived at the Kortright centre and the children had the challenge of identifying animals from their skulls and furs. Next, we had a tour of the Centre, during which they studied the woodland habitat in real life. They matched trees and leaves, participated in an animal detective game and also played a game called ‘Camouflage’. The day ended in a huge food chain game in which the children found out what it was like to be part of a real woodland habitat. A wonderful day was had by all and the teachers were very proud of the way the Grade 4s conducted themselves throughout the day.
