In December, Crestwood participated in its first-ever Hackergal Hackathon. This contest had students from grades 7-9 compete to make an interactive storybook using code to represent the theme “Leaders in HERstory”. Students researched role models in STEM and depicted their stories through code. The teams were then scored on the design, code, and gameplay. Congratulations go to the winning team comprised of Elaine Chen, Jiwon Min, and Simran Anand.
Back in November, several students wrote the Canadian Intermediate and Senior Math contests run by the University of Waterloo. The following students placed in the top 25% of all participants.
