Author Cary Fagan Visits Crestwood


On Monday, May 30, the Grade 3 and 4 students were treated to an IN-PERSON author visit with Canadian writer, Cary Fagan.  After reading many of his books during library class, it was fascinating to learn more about Cary Fagan, how he started his career as a writer, as well as finding out some writing tips!  He told us that his stories start with an object (like a wishing stone), a place (like High Park), an event (like falling in a hole), or a “What If” question.  I know many of our budding writers will use his suggestions for their own writing.  Cary Fagan also entertained us with banjo playing on handmade banjo and also reading to us from two of his books.  For more information visit:
