U14 Boys Soccer
Crestwood’s U14 Soccer Team played a thrilling game vs. Greenwood College. After going down 1-0 on a fluttering shot that got lost in the gale-like winds, Crestwood fought back, and tied the game 1-1, after Nick Meunier drove home a loose ball in front of the net. The team almost scored twice more, but unfortunately could not find the net, and ended the game with a 1-1 tie. Special mention goes out to Noah Lerner, who made two excellent defensive plays in the second half of the game. Crestwood’s next game is Tuesday vs. TFS.

Jr. Boys Soccer
Despite overcoming three 1-goal deficits last game against UCC, the Junior Boys soccer team was unable to catch Greenwood in Wednesday October 8th’s cold and windy affair. The team found itself trailing 2-0 after the first half, conceding two goals early in game. While the team switched to a more attacking formation in the second half and cutting Greenwood’s lead to one – compliments of a goal by Aren Karshafian – Greenwood persevered and put the game out of reach with 2 demoralizing goals to win the game 4-1. The team is now 1-1-1 in its first three games. The team looks to return to its winning ways next Wednesday against Lakefield.

U14 Girls Basketball
The U14 girl’s basketball team played their most exciting game of the season thus far! On October 8th the team faced Trinity College – a team we lost to by 42 points last year. The girls were pumped up and ready for revenge. It was a back and forth game, all 4 quarters, with Alex Martin tying up the game with only seconds left in the 4th quarter. This took us into overtime, where once again we fell behind by 1 basket. But the girls were determined, and Megan Pearlmen sank a jumper to send us into a second overtime. Both teams battled hard and once again came out tied 21-21 after the second overtime. Excellent effort by the entire team!

Jr. Girls Basketball
After a great win at the York school on Monday, the girls were heading into Wednesday’s game with a three game winning streak and the streak continues. A great game was played by all against Lakefield, on October 8th ,with the final score being 47-25 for Crestwood. With the likes of Rain Karab, Sydney Steinman, Minami Morris, Jahnai Brown, Jessica Weinberg and Chelsea Baijnauth, the team is in very good hands. Special mention must go out to Donna Dong, Ivy Lu, and Tao Tao for their great team play. Mr Pagano and Mrs Reay would like to thank the girls for their strong offensive and defensive play. Great work ladies.
