As a part of our Earth Week festivities, Anishinaabe storyteller, Kevin Myran, visited Crestwood School on Wednesday. Kevin arrived with his friends, Thunder and Dakota, and they told the most wonderful stories about animals and nature. Ask your children to tell you the stories of why the bear doesn’t have a tail and why the rabbit has long ears, a puffy tail, and two big teeth. Thunder and Dakota then showed how they made their drums and sang us some beautiful tunes. As a finale, Kevin instructed the students of Crestwood to form circles to perform the “Round Dance”. We all held hands and celebrated how we can keep our spirits happy and healthy by staying connected to each other.
