Our annual Grade 7 and 8 Speech Competition was held on Tuesday February 7. Teachers, parents and peers assembled in the cafeteria to support and applaud speeches written and presented by finalists chosen from each class. The Grade 7 finalists were Jordana Stal, Marissa Rosenberg, Noah Chiang and Chris Sanders. The grade 7 students were asked to share a personal narrative which reflects an important life lesson learned. The Grade 8 finalists were Taite Hopkins, Gavin Piehler, Blair Gwartzman and Madeleine Leftwick. The grade 8 students were asked to research a topic of interest and inform the audience about that topic.
All finalists received a trophy with Marissa Rosenberg and Blair Gwartzman being named first place winners for Grade 7 and Grade 8 respectively.
