This year Crestwood will be celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Marathon of Hope by participating in the Terry Fox School Run. Throughout the last week of September, we will be completing live-run/walks in Physical Education classes or students can participate virtually in a run/walk. The Marathon of Hope not only honours the legacy of Terry Fox but it helps to raise much-needed funds for cancer research. Over the past 19 years, the Crestwood community has raised $180.617.25!! We hope that everyone will continue to support this important charity as cancer is something that has likely affected all of our families in some capacity.
Students can visit our Terry Fox Fundraising page and start their own link to raise donations online. Using the same link people can also make direct donations to the Crestwood school fundraising page.
If you would like to participate in the Terry Fox school run please download the Strava app found in the Apple App Store or Google Play. Once you have downloaded the app, join the Crestwood Running Club. This will help you track your runs and walks during our Terry Fox week and make students eligible for the following awards;
- Longest Run (km)
- Longest Walk (km)
- Fastest 5km
- Fastest 10km
- Fastest mile
In addition, we will be recognizing the student(s) that bring in the top donations. All students that raise over $100 individually will receive a week of grub days (no uniform days).
